OUR VISION
Health equity at it's core...
To create a country where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive -- living as well as possible as long as possible, despite any health challenges. People with rarer health conditions should have the same level of support, resources and guidance as someone with a more prevalent condition.

OUR MISSION
To provide everyone with medical professional led support, every stage of their health journey. Our vision is to see that anyone, regardless of health condition, should have the same level of support to help them live as well as possible as long as possible. When life changing health challenges happen, you need to find a way to thrive, not just survive. We get it, and we want to help.

WHY OUR WORK IS IMPORTANT...
TAKING PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE DIAGNOSIS SPIRAL AND ONTO THE THRIVE ARC
The diagnosis spiral and thrive arc are concepts created by founder Dr Liz Murray - a way of capturing what it is that happens when people are given a major diagnosis but without the right support. The thrive arc is shifting from a place of surviving to thriving, which should be the focus of anyone's health journey.
Our support programmes are structured to pull people out of the diagnosis spiral and onto a place of thriving. For more information about the DS and TA click below.

OUR WIDER TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS IS THE BEATING HEART OF THE CHARITY...

TRUSTEES
Our team consists of highly qualified and motivated professionals and patients with lived experience. Our volunteers are the backbone of our charity and each individual contribution helps the charity as it rapidly grows to meet the demand by people who critically need these services.

MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD
Our Medical Advisory Board is a group of medical professionals who have varying medical skills and backgrounds. The MAB helps ensure our information is reliable, up to date and here to help guide our health services.

AMBASSADORS
We have artist ambassadors and Voice ambassadors to help come together to share their ideas and help us manage the campaigns and projects. They are the champions for sharing the work of MAS and providing essential support to the work we do.

VOLUNTEERS
We have a collection of over 100 people ready and willing to volunteer and continue to be part of the charity. As we travel for filming, host events or deliver online services our volunteers are an essential part of everything we do. Through our volunteers we have experience of over 160 health topics directly.
How it all began...
A vision of one doctor who faced her mortality as a patient and saw the need for change...
DR LIZ MURRAY BCA(h) is the founder and CEO of the charity after her own experiences as both patient and doctor.
Dr Liz faced her own mortality with multiple incurable health conditions and experienced first hand the inequalities in support for people with different health conditions.
As a medical doctor for over ten years, and the recipient of the British Citizen's Award for her services to health, Liz wanted to create a centralised support system for anyone facing any health challenges.
Liz is a passionate advocate for health equity and the delivery of safe and reliable information online. Liz works with other organisations such as the Patient Information Forum, National Voices, UN WOMEN UK and WHIN to continue her mission of striving for health equity.

PIF TICK
Proud to be regulated for our online health information
The Patient Information Forum (PIF Tic) is the UK's only regulatory body for ensuring gold standard quality of safe, reliable health information is delivered online. With growing misinofrmation on the online space and social media, it is vital that adhering to the strict criteria to show that our information is reliable is a priority of our charity.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES TO RETURN TO WORK
We recognise that people find it difficult to stay in employment, need a break or want a change in direction. People have skillsets but need flexibility and time. Our volunteer roles allow for a flexible way to use skillsets, and gain experience for a CV whilst needing time to return slowly.

HIGHER CHANGE
We work with other national organisations, including National Voices to connect us with the right institutions to drive real change at a higher level. We don't just want to support people through common challenges, we want to be part of the change for the next generation.
All of our services are designed by medical professionals and patients with lived experience. Programmes, resources, events and campaigns to help any stage of health diagnosis.

RESOURCES & INFORMATION
We have an ever growing library of resources to help guide patients through any stage of health problem, as well as navigating the healthcare system. Written by our medical advisory board, regulated by the Patient Information Forum.

SUPPORT PROGRAMMES
Unique programmes of support for any one, any stage. Community support online, one-to-one programmes designed by life coaches, in person events. Uniquely designed for different stages of health, accessible to any health condition.

ART FOR CHANGE
We support the arts industry by utilising the power of art as an exciting and interesting new way to engage people with important topics of conversation; namely health inequalities. Our incredible exhibitions are curated with the purpose of health empowerment in an unrivalled approach.

HEALTH CAMPAIGNS
Our innovative campaigns cover a range of health conditions - sharing toolkits, advice and support. Our major UK Scars Of Gold covered women's health inequalities on a large scale, whereas our ICE campaign was a smaller toolkit to help provide a communication tool.
