SUNRISE SUPPORT

Coming in 2025

Sunrise Support...Regaining Control After a Diagnosis

When a major health diagnosis turns your world upside down it can affect so many areas of life. Employment, mental health, relationships, friendships...even your relationship with your own body. So many of our Voices from the Scars of Gold campaign are testimony to the fact that this doesn't have to be a bad thing, and actually the post-diagnosis 'you' can find yourself in a much better place than you ever imagined, regardless of the diagnosis.

However, getting to that point can be difficult. There is no obvious manual on how to restart life after something so major. We have designed a programme of support to help guide you through that time of limbo. This will be available in 2025 and will be available online as a free resource, and soon after a more personalised programme with one-to-one support session available by professional coaches following our programme.

Sunrise Programme (Due 2025)

Re-discover YOU

New Outlook

Action Plan

Taking a pause and a breath to reflect on where you came from (who you were pre-diagnosis), what has happened; and what has changed. An important part of being able to move forward is understanding where you have arrived at and how you got there. An important part of the treatment process that isn't obviously prescribed, but can be vitally important for mental wellbeing.

When reflecting on how your experience has changed your outlook and values on life, this helps to rediscover where you are now. Values and beliefs can change, and this is ok. Recognising this and re-evaluating what is important to you now can help guide where you want to go moving forwards.

When you know where you are, where you have been and then what you want, you can then figure a plan. This can be scary but also exciting, making small steps towards re-building different areas of your life post-diagnosis or post-treatment.
